The Punjab government has made arrangements to send more workers to Canada following an informal agreement.

The deal was established during a meeting between Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, and Canadian High Commissioner Leslie Scanlon.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi highlighted that this informal agreement provides Pakistani youth with increased job opportunities in Canada, a country gaining popularity among young people for its higher living standards.

Besides discussing employment, the officials also addressed bilateral issues, including environmental protection.

The chief minister emphasized that the agreement not only promotes economic cooperation but also reflects a shared commitment to addressing environmental challenges, particularly in Lahore.

Given Lahore’s current environmental issues with dense fog and smog, the discussion on environmental matters was deemed constructive. The smog has led to health concerns, forcing residents to stay indoors and affecting education as schools are dealing with environmental and viral infection worries.
