KARACHI: A child who was injured during a clash between two political parties in New Karachi a couple of days ago died at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
The hospital administration, 11-year-old Abdul Rehman, who was injured in the firing, was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the JPMC.
The hospital administration said that the condition of the injured child was critical for two days and he died today.
On the other hand, no arrest has been made so far in the incident of clash between two political parties in New Karachi Sector 11 J.
The case was registered in the complaint of Muhammad Shahid, in which 5 to 6 alleged political workers are named while 5 to 6 unknown persons are also included.
The police said that raids were conducted at different places to arrest the accused, but the workers of both the political parties named in the cases are still absconding.
Earlier, At least three persons including two children were wounded in a clash between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) workers in Karachi.
This is the second fierce clash between the two leading parties of Karachi within a week as the general elections, slated for February 8, are just around the corner.
Police said the 12-year-old Abdul Rehman, who received an injury to his head, was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and was put on ventilator support.
