The driving license test in Dubai, scheduled for Monday, was canceled due to adverse weather conditions and heavy rainfall, causing flooding in various parts of the city, as announced by the RTA.
Many roads became impassable due to the flooding, leading to congested streets during the morning commute. Prioritizing safety, the RTA decided to postpone the driving tests for that day, emphasizing the importance of avoiding driving in such conditions.
One Dubai resident, Fasna Mohammed, who was supposed to take her final road test, received notification of the postponement due to the weather. She supported the decision, recognizing it as a prudent choice to steer clear of driving in rainy weather.
In response to the impact of rainfall, the RTA dispatched emergency teams to facilitate the restoration of normal traffic flow. Additionally, they issued safety reminders to motorists, urging them to maintain safe distances between vehicles, obey traffic signals, drive cautiously, and ensure the proper functioning of brakes and tires during rainy conditions.
Despite the inconvenience caused by the weather, these measures are aimed at protecting drivers’ well-being and fostering a secure transportation environment in Dubai.
