Heatwaves are expected to persist in Lahore and most parts of Punjab on Monday and Tuesday, with daytime temperatures projected to be 6 to 8°C above normal.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reports that continental air is prevalent across most of Pakistan, with high atmospheric pressure expected to remain for the next two days. A shallow westerly wave is also affecting the northern regions.

These conditions will cause heatwaves to continue in Lahore and many districts of the province on Monday and Tuesday, with daytime temperatures likely to be 6 to 8°C above normal. Gusty and dust-raising winds are anticipated in the afternoon.

In Lahore, maximum temperatures are forecasted to range between 43-45°C on Monday and Tuesday. Over the past 24 hours, heatwaves have affected most of the province, including Lahore, with gusty and dust-raising winds occurring in the afternoon.

Khanpur recorded the highest temperature in the province at 50°C, followed by Rahim Yar Khan, Bhakkar, D.G. Khan, and Kot Addu at 49°C, Multan at 48°C, and Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Jhang, Joharabad, Layyah, Kasur, and Noorpur Thal at 47°C. In Lahore, the maximum temperature reached 44°C, with relative humidity recorded at 16 percent in the evening.
