LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered legal action against Nikah Khawan in the case related to the marriage of a minor girl.
Justice Anwar-ul-Haq Pannu of the Lahore High Court heard the case related to the marriage of a minor girl, during which the minor girl brought from Dar ul Aman(Shelter Home) was presented in the court.
The petitioner told the court that the girl is 15 years old who was forcibly married while the case of abduction of the girl is registered in Shahdara Police Station.
During the hearing, Justice Anwar-ul-Haq Pannu asked the girl, “Son, you got married of your own will.”
On this, the girl told the court that yes, “I got married of my own free will”.
The court asked the girl again, how old are you? On this, the girl told the court that her age was between 15 and 16 years.
Later, the court ordered a judicial magistrate to decide the case.
Justice Anwar-ul-Haq gave the order and further said to file a prosecution against Nikah Khawan, how to marry a young girl.
