ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Hasan Zaigham on Saturday visited the Kyrgyz National Hospital to inquire about the wellbeing of Pakistani National Shahzaib who was under treatment there.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, a few other Pakistanis who were injured had been discharged from the hospital after providing the first aid.

“Five Pakistani students were injured in the mob violence. One of them is admitted in a local hospital with some jaw injuries, while four others were released after first aid,” Hasan Zaigham, Pakistan’s ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, told media on phone.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit Baltistan and Frontier Regions Engineer Amir Muqam to immediately travel to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to assist and rescue the Pakistani students affected by recent unrest in the country.

On the direction of the prime minister, Engineer Amir Muqam will leave for Bishkek tonight, a news release issued by the PM House said.

Amir Muqam will meet with high level government officials in Bishkek to address the situation and ensure the safety and well-being of Pakistani students.

He will also meet with the students, listen to their concerns, and ensure that they receive the best possible medical treatment for any injuries.
