KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered the Sindh Police to take practical steps to recover the missing persons.
The petitions related to the recovery of 7 missing persons, including a young girl, were heard in the Sindh High Court.
The families of the missing persons said that despite the passage of years, the police could not find out where their loved ones were and in what condition they were.
The investigating officer told the court that the missing citizen Raees is mentally ill, on which Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto said that even if the citizen is mentally ill, it is the responsibility of the state to find him.
The court expressed anger at the investigating officer and said that a girl had gone missing from the bungalow, who would find her? There are 100 ways to investigate if the girl is young, married, or has some other problem.
Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto while talking to the families said that we are trying hard to find the missing persons.
The Sindh High Court ordered the police to take practical steps to recover the missing citizens and asked the concerned police stations to register cases of missing citizens.
The court said that an investigation should be started by registering cases of disappearance of new missing citizens.
The Sindh High Court also sought a report from the federal government and other institutions on August 12.
