Earthquake jolts parts of Karachi city
KARACHI: An earthquake jolts different parts of Karachi including posh areas of the city on Monday.
National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) said tremors of 3.2 magnitude were felt in different areas of provincial capital. The earthquake tremors were felt in different areas of the city in Clifton, Defense and Korangi. The earthquake tremors have also been felt in II Chandrigarh Road and Saddar area.
No information regarding the epicenter and intensity of the earthquake has been revealed immediately, but according to the citizens, the duration of the tremors was very short.
Citizens have reported about the tremors of the earthquake on social media.
According to the seismological center, the magnitude of the earthquake was 3.2 and the depth was 22 km. The epicenter of the earthquake was 15 km northeast of Karachi.
However, no loss of life was reported during the recent seismic activity.
Earlier, a 2.3 magnitude earthquake jolted parts of the metropolis including Gadap Town, Katohar and adjoining areas of Malir district on May 02,2024.
This is the third time in last few weeks that a minor earthquake hit Karachi.
