ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Aamer Farooq expressed his anger over the change of the election tribunal in Islamabad.

The court heard PTI’s petition against the ongoing proceedings related to the Election Amendment Ordinance and the tribunal change in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

During the case hearing, Chief Justice Aamer Farooq expressed his anger on the Election Commission’s lawyer and said that the decision of the ECP to change the election tribunals cannot be sustained.

Chief Justice Aamer Farooq inquired that on what ground the Election Commission changed the tribunals, on which the counsel of the ECP said that the tribunals had not followed the procedure on which it was changed.

Chief Justice Islamabad High Court said that Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri is the judge of this court, the Election Commission would have challenged the order but how and why was the transfer done?  A case is transferred on the basis of bias but there is a way and first of all the concerned judge is requested not to hear the case.
