
PTI founder approaches SC for early hearing of pending appeal
ISLAMABAD: Founder Chairman Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan approached the Supreme Court for an early hearing of the pending appeal against his disqualification.
In the petition filed by Ali Zafar, founder PTI’s lawyer, it has been requested to schedule the appeal filed against the disqualification of PTI founder for an early hearing.
It has been stated in the petition that cases against the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) are pending in Islamabad and Lahore High Courts.
Barrister Ali Zafar’s petition also states that due to disqualification, the founder of PTI can neither be elected as a member of the assembly nor chairman of PTI. Due to a pending appeal, the founder of PTI cannot participate in by-elections. If possible, the court is requested to fix the pending applications for an early hearing.
