9th Muharram being observed with devotion and respect throughout country

• Muharram processions honor Imam Hussain (RA) nationwide.

The processions of 9th Muharram al-Haram are being taken out today with devotion and respect across the country in memory of the great sacrifices of the great-grandson of the Prophet Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the martyrs of Karbala.

Karachi

The main procession of the 9th of Muharram in Karachi will take place from Nishtar Park. Which will end at Imambargah Hussainiya Iraniyan through its traditional routes.

A procession will be held in Nishtar Park after the 9th of Muharram. The procession will pass through Exhibition, MA Jinnah Road, Sea Breeze, Empress Market, Regal Chowk, Tibet Center, Radio Pakistan, Jama Cloth Market, Light House, Denso Hall, Memon Masjid and Kharadar and end at Imambargah Hussainiya Iraniyan.

Foolproof security arrangements have been made to avoid any untoward incident. Apart from this, all the roads and streets around the procession routes have been sealed with containers, while all the markets, commercial centers and hotels on MA Jinnah Road were sealed on Sunday night.

MA Jinnah Road is closed from Gurmandir to Tower, while New M Jinnah Road and Parade Street are also closed to vehicles other than processions. 9

And during the 10th of Muharram, 17 thousand 947 officers and personnel of Karachi Police will be deployed on security, snipers are deployed on the roofs of buildings. While a heavy contingent of Rangers will also be deployed.

Apart from this, aerial surveillance of the procession routes will also be conducted. In case of any untoward incident, Pakistan Army has also been alerted.

Lahore

The main procession of the 9th of Muharram Haram in Lahore will be taken out from Pandu Street, Islampura. Strict security arrangements have been made on the procession routes. The entrance and exit were sealed.

40 Reserves, 16 SHOs, 6 DSPs and 2 SPs will be deployed in the Pandu Street area for duty, apart from this the procession will also be monitored by CCTV cameras, for which the DC office and Control rooms have been established in Punjab Home Department.

Islamabad

The main procession of the 9th of Muharram al-Haram will depart from the Imambargah at Ashri G62. The procession leaving from G6-2 Imambargah will arrive at Lal Quarter Chowk, the next stop will be one-to-one stop where extensive arrangements will be made for Langar Hussaini.

On the way of the procession, Sabil Ali Asghar and Sabil Syeda Sakina will also be organized, congregational prayers will be offered at Maghrabeen School Stop Melody Chowk. Along with Maghribin Namaz, the procession will reach Melody Shahada Chowk through New Abpara. The procession will pass through Polyclinic Chowk, Service Road and end at the Central Imam Bargah late at night.

Peshawar

A total of 18 mourning processions will be taken out in Peshawar today, 2 main processions will be taken out for the image of Zul-Jinah.

In Peshawar, the first procession will leave Sadar Imam Bargah Hussainiya Hall at 10 am, while the second procession will leave from Imam Bargah Qamar Bani Hashim Ali Colony City at 3 pm. The procession will pass through the designated routes and end at their Imambargahs.

Strict security arrangements have been made throughout the city for the procession, a total of more than 14,000 police personnel have been deployed.

Quetta

The main procession of 9th Muharram al-Haram in Quetta will be taken out today afternoon, the procession will start from Imambargah Nasir-ul-Iza and end there.

Strict arrangements have been made for the security of the procession, the roads leading to Imam Bargah will be sealed during the procession, 5000 personnel of police, FC and other forces will be involved in the security of 9th and 10th of Muharram. Mobile phone service is suspended in Nazar city.

It should be noted that yesterday, the main procession of 8th Muharram in Karachi ended after reaching its destination Hussainiya Iraniyan Kharadar. Roads were blocked by placing containers, Green Line and Orange Line bus services will remain suspended in the city today and tomorrow.

Also in Lahore, the 8th Muharram procession passed through the traditional routes and ended in Block Syedan. Security was on high alert at the passageways of the procession, more than 5 thousand police personnel were deployed.
