KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to introduce the system of providing number plates to the people at home.
In the meeting presided over by Senior Minister of Sindh Sharjeel Inam Memon, it was decided to introduce the system of providing number plates to the people at home, while it was decided to establish a motor registration office in the district south and to work in the evening hours as well.
In the meeting, it was also decided to establish a special office for the issuance of premium number plates by the Excise Department.
Provincial Minister Sharjeel Memon said that the first phase of the issue of premium number plates was successful and was well received by the people. The second phase of auction of premium number plates will also be started soon.
Sharjeel Memon directed that steps be taken to further simplify the registration process, wanting to run the excise department in a corporate manner.
It may be recalled that a few days ago, for the first time in Pakistan, the auction of special number plates of vehicles was held in which the most expensive number plate was sold for Rs 100 million.
