KARACHI: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) State Bank Circle Karachi raided a factory in Korangi area of Karachi and recovered fake medicines worth millions of rupees.
In the action with the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), suspected drugs worth million were recovered besides machinery and other equipment.
Fake medicines were being manufactured and packed in the pharmaceutical factory located in the residential premises, a huge amount of suspected drugs were recovered from the said factory.
During the raid, a large batch of antibiotic drugs were seized, which were being packed, during the raid, the owner of the factory, Syed Ziad, and other accused were arrested.
According to the arrested suspects, the drugs were being supplied in different cities, the equipment and machinery used for packaging the drugs were also recovered in the operation.
According to FIA, a large number of main powder and liquid mixing machines, packing machines and printing machines have been exported.
A case has been registered against the accused and investigation has been started while raids are being conducted to arrest other involved accused.
Earlier, A hybrid meeting of the Office Bearers of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) was held on at PMA House Karachi.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. Hameed ullah Kakar, President PMA. Among the participants were Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Shoro, Secretary General PMA, Dr. Izhar Ahmed Chaudhry, President Elect PMA and other senior members of the Association.
