KARACHI: Arshad Nadeem has made history by becoming the first individual athlete from Pakistan to win a gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024.

The 27-year-old javelin thrower achieved this monumental feat with a remarkable throw of 92.97 meters, setting a new Olympic record in the process. His performance not only secured the gold medal but also marked Pakistan’s first Olympic gold in any discipline in 40 years, with the last golds being in hockey at the 1984 Los Angeles Games.

In an exclusive interview, Nadeem expressed his confidence going into the event, stating that he was “in the rhythm” and “hopeful” of winning. He also hinted that he could have thrown even farther, but his historic throw was enough to outpace all competitors.
