ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formed a task force for the digitalization of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
According to the notification issued by the Prime Minister, the task force will be headed by Minister of State for Finance & Revenue Ali Pervez Malik while Major General Syed Ali Raza will be the co-chairman of the task force.
The notification states that the members of the task force will include Ghazi Akhtar, Zaid Bashir, Aamir Malik, while Farid Zafar, Asif Pir, Tania Edros, Waqas-ul-Hassan and Gohar Marwat will also be part of the task force.
The task force will work on FBR automation, data integration of provincial revenue authorities and will also consider wholesalers, distributors, supply chain, middlemen network.
The notification further said that the task force will work on automation, integration of track and trace system while the task force will submit its report to the Prime Minister in a month.
Earlier, New Gwadar International Airport is set to become operational on August 14, according to sources.
A well-placed source in the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been completed for the airport’s opening on this date.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will conduct the soft launch of the airport, the sources added. The New Gwadar International Airport has been built at a cost of Rs54.98 billion.
