PESHAWAR: Earthquake termers were felt in the Swat area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, due to which fear and panic has spread among the citizens.
According to the details, earthquake shocks have been felt in Mingora city and its surroundings, people came out of their houses reciting Kalima e Tayyaba in fear.
The National Seismological Monitoring Center(NSMC) the magnitude of the earthquake was 4.5 on the Richter scale, while the depth of the earthquake was 151 kilometers.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, the Center for Earthquake and Mountaineering said.
Earlier, Earthquake tremors were felt in Swat, Malakand and Shangla which created panic like situation in the residents to these areas.
The National Seismological Monitoring Center(NSMC) reported that the earthquake of magnitude 5 was recorded in the region with its epicenter was in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan and the depth of the earthquake was recorded at 104 km.
The tremors were felt in Islamabad, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, Swabi, Mardan, Peshawar, Chitral and other Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cities.
Meanwhile, Punjab cities Multan, Gujranwala, Chiniot, Rawalpindi and Sargodha also felt earthquake tremors.
