KARACHI: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol has arrested Ghulam Abbas, the accused involved in the kidnapping of a woman from Saudi Arabia.
According to the details, Ghulam Abbas, wanted in a case of serious crimes, was arrested from Saudi Arabia by Interpol. Ghulam Abbas was shifted to Islamabad Airport after his arrest.
Ghulam Abbas was wanted by Gujranwala police for the last 5 years, a case of kidnapping of a woman was registered against him in 2019 at Jinnah Road police station, Gujranwala.
FIA-NCB Interpol had issued a red notice for the arrest of the accused, the accused was later handed over to Gujranwala Police by FIA Immigration Islamabad.
The extradition of the accused has been possible due to the close coordination of Interpol Islamabad with Interpol Riyadh.
Earlier, Accountability Court has transferred the new Toshakhana reference against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Accountability Court Judge Mohammad Ali Warraich has issued a written judgment.
Under the NAB Amendments, cases below Rs500 million is not in the jurisdiction of the anti-corruption watchdog. The new Toshakhana reference’s worth is less than Rs500 million.
