KARACHI: A labourer died after falling from the 6th floor of an under-construction pediatric unit in National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD).
NICVD spokesperson said a tragic accident has occurred at the under-construction pediatric unit in the premises of NICVD, a laborer fell from the sixth floor and got seriously injured.
The injured labourer was immediately shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where he succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.
He said investigation continues after tragic accident at construction site.

Earlier, A fire at an illegal petrol pump in Karachi’s Shah Faisal Colony claimed at least one life, trapping residents inside a nearby building.
The reports suggest that the petrol pump was operating unlawfully beneath the residential structure, endangering the lives of the occupants.
The fire spread through the building, leaving people stranded.
Rescue teams struggled to evacuate those trapped due to the building being filled with dense smoke. Initially, one fire department unit was dispatched, but five more fire tenders were later called in to assist.
