Policeman kills accused inside police station in Quetta

Quetta: An accused arrested on charges of blasphemy was shot dead by a police official inside police station in Quetta city.

According to the police, a person was arrested yesterday on the charge of blasphemy and moved to the police station.

The police said that the policeman who killed the accused inside police station has been arrested and investigation into the matter has been started.

It should be noted that , when a person was arrested on the charge of blasphemy from Spinny Road area of ​​Quetta and transferred to Kharotabad police station, the angry citizens stormed the police station as well.

The Kharotabad police station came under a grenade attack during a violent protest as an enraged mob demanded that the police hand over a blasphemy suspect to them.

The protesters locked traffic on the western bypass by placing burning tyres on the road and staged rallies in several parts of the provincial capital.

Earlier, A labourer died after falling from the 6th floor of an under-construction pediatric unit in National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD).

NICVD spokesperson said a tragic accident has occurred at the under-construction pediatric unit in the premises of NICVD, a laborer fell from the sixth floor and got seriously injured.

The  injured labourer was immediately shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where he succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.
