KARACHI: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has finalised arrangements for the local government (LG) by-elections in Sindh andpolling will be held on November 14.
By-elections will be held on the seats of four chairman, two vice-chairman and four ward councilors in 6 districts of Karachi. The polling will be held on the seat of chairman in district Malir TMC Bakhtawar UC 9 and councilor seat in TMC Ibrahim Hydari UC 7.
Polling will be held for the seat of Chairman in TMC Model Colony UC-7, Vice-Chairman in TMC Landhi UC-6 and Ward Councilor in TMC Korangi UC-7 in Korangi district.
Similarly, polling will be held for the seat of ward councilor in TMC Manghopir UC-5 in district West and the seat of chairman in TMC president UC-13 in district South.
Polling will be held for the seat of Chairman in TMC Liaquatabad UC-7 and Vice-Chairman in TMC Gulbarg UC-5 in Central District and Ward Councilor in TMC Baldia UC-10 in Kemari District.
68 candidates are competing on 10 municipal seats of different categories of Karachi while 167 polling stations have been set up for the by-elections.
Besides, out of 167 polling stations in the city out of which 136 have been declared highly sensitive, while 26 polling stations have been declared sensitive and five normal.
