ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) leader Shibli Faraz on Wednesday resigned as a member of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP), after stepping down by Omar Ayub, leader of the opposition in the National Assembly.
Leader of PTI and leader of opposition in the Senate Shibli Faraz also resigned from the membership of the JCP while Senator Ali Zafar will now represent party in the Judicial Commission.
Umar Ayub and Shibli Faraz have resigned from the JCP the instructions of founder PTI.
Two days ago PTI nominated Barrister GoharAli Khan from National Assembly and Ali Zafar from Senator for Judicial Commission.
Earlier, Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Umar Ayub has resigned from the membership of Judicial Commission of Pakistan.
Umar Ayub has submitted his resignation to the Speaker National Assembly and has nominated Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Ali Khan as a member of the JCP in his place.
Umar Ayub said that he has decided to resign from the Judicial Commission due to the cases filed against him.
According to Umar Ayub, the current legal challenges are a hindrance to the effective performance of the JCP.
It is in the interest of the organization that “I nominate someone else in my place who can give full attention to this important role”.
Earlier, Opposition leader National Assembly Omar Ayub’s resignation as Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) which was accepted by PTI founder Imran Khan.
Opposition leader of PTI Omar Ayub says that “I am grateful to the founder of PTI, he accepted my resignation, I had resigned on June 22 but it was not accepted”.
