ATC indicts PTI leader in May 9, burning PML-N office cases

LAHORE: An anti -terrorism court (ATC) Lahore has indicted Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) leaders and workers in case related to the May 9 and torching of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) office.

Yasmin Rashid, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Ejaz Chaudhry and Mian Mahmood-ul -Rasheed were charged in both cases by the court. The court indicted 31 accused, including PTI leaders.

The court charged the accused in both cases and summoned the witnesses against the accused for evidence.

An anti -terrorism court adjourned the hearing till February 20, ordering further proceedings in Kot Lakhpat Jail.

Earleir, An anti-terrorism court(ATC) Rawalpindi indicted 9 accused including Shireen Mazari and Rashid Hafeez in the May 9 GHQ attack case.

The May 9 GHQ attack case was heard by Judge Amjad Ali Shah of the anti-terrorism court during which Special Public Prosecutor Naveed Malik and Zaheer Shah appeared in the court while PTI’s lawyer Muhammad Faisal Malik appeared in the court along with the legal team.

Founder PTI was produced in the court room for hearing the case while Shah Mahmood Qureshi was taken from Kot Lakhpat Jail to Adiala Jail.

Special public prosecutors Naveed Malik and Zaheer Shah sought cancellation of the bail of the absent accused and said that the absent accused are deliberately delaying the trial.
