Karachi traffic accidents claim 150 lives in two months
KARACHI: As many as five people killed were and three injured in two separate tragic road accidents in Karachi city.
The latest incident of civilian casualties occurred in Karachi in Malir Halt, where a speeding dumper hit motorcyclist in a result father and son died while a woman was injured.
The relativities of victims said father and son is a resident of Hijrat Colony, who was returning from a Khuda Ke Basti on a motorcycle.
The heirs of victim Saleem, who was killed in the accident, was a watchman and father of 6 children at a private company.
In seperate accident, a speeding dumper crushed motorcyclist near the Millennium Shopping Mall in Gulistan -e -Johar area of Karachi. In a result, three people were killed and two other injured in tragic incident.
The deceased were identified as 50-year-old Muhammad Farooq, his wife 40-year-old-Maryam Zehra, and 46-year-old Kamran.
The case has been registered in Shahreh e Faisal police station on the behalf of Zia ur Rehman son of victim Farooq.
The police arrested dumper owner Usman in the case. The dumper owner son was driving the vehicle when unfortunate accident reported in Gulistan -e -Johar.
Rescue sources said 71 people have been killed and 1044 injured in various traffic accidents this year in Karachi so far.
