FO confirms 16 deaths of Pakistanis in Libya boat tragedy
ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office confirmed the death of 16 Pakistanis in the Libyan boat tragedy while passenger 37 survived and 10 still are missing.
Details of the names of Pakistanis died in the Libyan boat tragedy, and the documents of Pakistanis have been revealed.
The Foreign Office said that the Pakistani Embassy team in Tripoli visited the Zawiya city on the report of the accident, where team collected information from local authorities and hospital administration.
The spokesman said that there were 63 Pakistani passengers in the boat out of which 16 Pakistanis died, while 37 people survived and about 10 Pakistanis were missing.
The spokesman further said that according to the details of 16 Pakistanis, Saqlain Haider, Siraj Uddin, Shoaib Hussain, Nusrat Hussain, Shoaib Ali, Syed Shahzad Hussain, Abid Hussain, Shahid, Asif Ali, Muswar, Abid Hussain, Masayab Hussain and Ashfaq Hussain was from Kurram agency.
In addition, Muhammad Ali Shah belonged to Orakzai Agency, Anees Khan, from Peshawar.
The Foreign Office said that 13 people were from Kurram district, but one of the injured was in the hospital, 33 in the custody in local police and three in Tripoli.
The spokesman said that one of the Pakistani Taftan border was killed while the other six had departed separately from Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar, Islamabad and Faisalabad airports, how later they reached the boat and from where the journey Started, information is being collected.
