Policeman martyred in attack on anti-polio team in KP
KHYBER: A police personnel was killed as armed men opned fire at the anti-polio campaign team in Khyber District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Rai Mazhar Iqbal, a seven -day anti -polio campaign has been launched across the district.
According to the DPO, terrorists opened fire on a team participating in the anti –polio drive, resulted in the martyrdom of Abdul Khaliq, a policeman who provided security to the polio team in the Bakarabad area of Khyber District.
According to police officials, other staff participating in the anti -polio team was miraculously safe while the motorcyclists fled, two of the 30 bore shells were recovered from the scene.
According to the DPO, as soon as the incident was reported, a large number of police personnel arrived at the scene and arrested the terrorists at various places to arrest the terrorists.
The Department of Health said on condition of anonymity that the anti -polio team has been postponed from the Bakar Abad and postponed the anti -polio campaign.
It is to be noted that in Khyber District, like the country, a seven -day anti -polio campaign has been launched in which 945 polio teams are participating, which has been targeted to vaccinate more than 200,000 children. –
