ISLAMABAD: India and Bangladesh have imposed trade restrictions on each other.

According to reports by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), India stopped transit facility for Bangladesh, with which Bangladesh transported its exports from Indian ports and airports to third countries.

India described the rush at ports and airports as the reason for stopping transit facilities.

On the other hand, in response to the Indian move, Bangladesh has banned the import of cotton thread from India by road.

The ban was imposed by Bangladesh to protect local industries from cheap import thread.

Earlier,India government has halted the water flow from the Baglihar Dam on the Chenab River and also planning to stop water of Jhelum River through Kishanganga Dam.

On Sunday India started holding back water at the dam and since then the water level in the Chenab River has been dropping fast.

According to Pakistan’s Irrigation Department the water flow at Head Marala was 87,000 cusecs just a day ago and now it’s decreased to only 10,800 cusecs.

The Baglihar Dam in Ramban Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Experts said Baglihar Dam has capacity to store 300,000 acre-feet of water.
