
Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has penalized West Indies Head Coach Darren Sammy for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct. Sammy received a fine of 15 percent of his match fee and was also handed one demerit point.
The penalty stems from a Level 1 breach of the Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, specifically Article 2.7. This violation occurred on the second day of the first Test match against Australia.
According to the ICC, Darren Sammy criticized an umpire’s decisions during a press conference. Sammy has reportedly admitted to the offense.
