PARACHINAR: At least four people were killed and four others were injured in a landmine explosion in the Upper Kurram region on Wednesday.

According to District Police Officer (DPO) Habibullah, the blast occurred in the Piewar Sharamkhel area of Upper Kurram. Initial reports confirm the deaths of four individuals at the scene.

The DPO further stated that four others sustained injuries in the explosion and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Security forces have cordoned off the area, and an investigation is underway to determine how the explosive device was planted.

Earleir, a tragic incident occurred near the Western Bypass in Quetta, where a passenger bus caught fire, resulting in the loss of several lives.

According to rescue officials, the fire broke out suddenly while the bus was en route. Emergency teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving the alert.

Rescue personnel managed to evacuate the injured from the burning vehicle and transported them to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, while efforts are ongoing to confirm the total number of casualties.

Rescue officials said five people were killed and eight were injured in the accident.
