KARACHI : The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Karachi Police, in collaboration with intelligence agencies, has arrested four suspected operatives linked to India’s intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

The announcement was made by SSP SIU Shoaib Memon during a press conference held at the CIA Centre.

Speaking at the CIA Centre, SSP SIU Shoaib Memon said that the operation was conducted with the support of law enforcement agencies (LEA).

According to Memon, the arrested suspects were in contact with RAW’s Colonel Ranjit and were actively providing images of sensitive installations in Pakistan to the Indian agency.

According to SSP Memon, the arrested individuals were working as fishermen by profession but were allegedly recruited by RAW for espionage activities. The suspects had reportedly crossed the border into India multiple times, where they received training and directives.

The suspects referred to a RAW handler named Colonel Ranjit as their “boss,” and maintained regular contact with him.

The investigations revealed that they provided photographs and sensitive information regarding military and strategic installations in Karachi, including locations in the Malir area.

SSP Memon disclosed that the suspects were compensated with cash  ranging from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 150,000 per visit along with Indian liquor, cigarettes, and other goods as part of their reward for conducting reconnaissance and intelligence-gathering missions.

The SIU has retrieved complete mobile phone data from the suspects, which is being analyzed for further leads. Authorities also recovered hand grenades, firearms, and a vehicle from their possession.
