
Hajj pilgrims to perform Wuquf Arafat today
Makkah: On the 9th of Zul Hajj, which is Thursday, June 5, 2025, pilgrims perform the most significant ritual of Hajj – Wuquf-e-Arafat (stay at Mount Arafat).
Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam, a religious duty that must be carried out at least once in the lifetime by every able-bodied Muslim who can afford Hajj once in life time.
Today, pilgrims will perform Wuquf-e-Arafat, the most important pillar of Hajj.
As part of the Hajj rituals, pilgrims arrived yesterday in Mina, the city of tents, where they spent the night engaged in prayers and worship.
Following Fajr prayers, the pilgrims proceeded towards the plains of Arafat to perform Wuquf-e-Arafat. This key ritual involves standing in prayer and supplication.
At Arafat, pilgrims will listen to the Hajj sermon delivered from Masjid Nimrah. Subsequently, they will offer combined and shortened Zuhr and Asr prayers.
After sunset, the pilgrims will depart for Muzdalifah, where they will spend the night under the open sky.
