
KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department(PMD) has warned that intense heat will prevail across the country during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays.
According to the Met Office, from today until June 12, daytime temperatures are expected to remain 4 to 7 degrees Celsius above normal in Islamabad, Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.
On Friday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded in Sibi at 48°C.
Other notable temperatures recorded were: Dadu 47°C, Nawabshah 46°C, Multan, Sargodha, and Hyderabad at 42°C, Lahore and Peshawar at 40°C, Islamabad and Muzaffarabad at 39°C, and Karachi, Quetta, and Gilgit at 36°C.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun during peak hours.
