Pakistan’s cricketing sensation, Babar Azam, has rewritten T20I history by surpassing the legendary Virat Kohli’s record for the most fifties in T20 Internationals.

Achieving this remarkable milestone in the third and final T20I match against South Africa in Lahore, Babar not only proved his excellence but also his unwavering consistency at the highest level.

In an impressive display of skill, Babar scored 51 runs off 36 balls, marking his 40th career half-century in T20Is. Prior to this, he had equaled Kohli’s record with his 39th half-century in the format.

What makes this achievement even more significant is Babar’s return to the T20I fold after a brief hiatus, following a setback in the 2025 Asia Cup. His seamless return to the squad and this record-breaking performance highlight his resilience and determination to lead from the front.
