PM Shahbaz Sharif, robust journalism essential for a strong Pakistan

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif stated that a free press is the guarantee of a strong, transparent, and democratic Pakistan.

The Prime Minister issued a message on the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, emphasizing the following points:

He said that a free, informed, an d responsible press is the foundation of any democratic society, and journalists make facts accessible to the public.

He stressed that crimes involving violence, threats, or vengeance against journalists in the line of duty are an attack on freedom of expression.

He paid tribute to journalists who face difficulties for the sake of truth and honesty.

Shahbaz Sharif reaffirmed that the government is committed to protecting press freedom and ensuring a safe environment for journalists. He concluded that a free press is the guarantee of a strong, transparent, and democratic Pakistan.
