1. Ahad Raza Mir all set to star in Resident Evil

It’s a rather eventful year for the Pakistanis, first it was Humayun Saeed who bagged a role in Netflix’s Crown, then Nimra Bucha who was seen in the trailer for Ms. Marvel along with rumours of Fawad Khan and Mehwish Hayat starring in the series too and now, adding another feather to his cap is Ahad Raza Mir who is a part of Netflix’s remake of the iconic Resident Evil. While the details of Mir’s character are currently being kept under wraps, the actor took to Instagram to share the news with his fans posting a poster of the series, revealing that series will hit the OTT app on July 14. The live action, scripted series will tell a new story building on Capcom’s hit video game franchise. Lance Reddick is set to star as Albert Wesker and the cast also includes Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, and Paola Nuñez. Mir is currently filming a comedy series for Hum TV titled Hum Tum alongside Ramsha Khan.

2. Asim Azhar and Meerub Ali put a ring on it

Congratulations are in order for model/actress Merub Ali and singer/actor Asim Azhar, who announced their engagement on Sunday evening. The couple took to social media to upload twin posts to share the life update with fans. Azhar and Ali have known each other for a long time as the two were family friends and the rumours of the two dating had also been brewing lately. Congratulatory messages poured in soon after the couple announced the engagement, with several industry members taking to the comments section of the posts. Celebrities such as Zara Noor Abbas, Sajay Aly, Aima Baig, Shadab Khan, Aiman Khan and Bilal Maqsood sent love and well wishes to the couple.

The engagement also stirred some drama after Twitter trolls were quick to allege that Azhar once called Ali his “sister,” based on a doctored screenshot. Responding to the trolls, Azhar said that he never labelled Merub as his sister and reminded people that this was a beautiful moment in his life and he wants to cherish it in the best possible way asking the trolls to live and let live.

3. Trailer of Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad in works, confirms Nabeel Qureshi

One of the most anticipated films this year is about to get its grand trailer really soon, Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa starrer Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad is slated to release at Eid-ul-Azha this year attracting massive crowds for this epic couple.

Directed by Nabeel Qureshi and written by Fizza Ali Meerza, the plot revolves around the story of a notorious cop (played by Fahad Mustafa) with Mahira Khan alongside him. The short teaser, released in 2020, showed Mustafa as a policeman delivering some serious action and Khan being her fierce self with a pepper spray in her hand. The audience will be seeing Mahira and Fahad as an onscreen couple for the very first time and the trailer will only pique the excitement.
