A passenger bus fell into ravine in the upper Kohistan area, leaving 24 dead and two injured, according to initial reports.
According to Chief Warden Civil Defense Ahsan ul Haq, incident took place in Bagru area of Kandia district.
Passenger bus was traveling to Kamila from Barigogaan. However, women and children are also included in those who have died in the tragic incident.
Chief Warden Civil Defense further stated that the bus fell into the ravine after the bridge collapsed.
Police and rescue teams were directed towards the point of incident on immediate basis.
CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will arrive Kandia via a helicopter, he added.
Eight dead bodies, including three women and one child have been found, whereas, search for the rest of dead bodies is underway, Police stated.
Area has no communication system, further details will be updated soon, according to Police.
According to police, the family members were traveling from Seo to Kamila when their ill-fated vehicle plunged into deep ravine.
The Rescue and police started operation to shift the dead and injured to nearby hospital.
As a result of incident, some eight people died on the spot others were shifted to hospital in a very critical condition.who were later declared dead after being treated in the hospital.
The dead bodies were shifted to district hospital Dasu.
