Another thief held by locals in Karachi
Another Rehan got saved by the bell in Karachi on Tuesday, after he was held by the locals for allegedly being involved in theft.
According to details, A guy named Rehan was held at night, from Baldia Mawach Goth, in terms of theft.
Locals tortured the alleged robber after tying him to an electric pole and attempted to burn him alive after taking off his clothes.
Video of the violence was also shot, which came out later.
Police took action after the video of torture became viral on different social media handles.
Accused Umair and Maqbool, who tortured the alleged thief Rehan were taken into custody, Saeedabad police stated.
According to the suspects, Rehan entered the house of a local man Imran to rob.
Rehan, who became victim of violence by locals, is a drug addict and managed to flee the scene after being tortured, Saeedabad police said.
Police is still searching for Rehan, who was accused of alleged theft by the people of that area.
According to Police, case has been filed against the arrested locals whereas, Rehan is still being traced down.
According to the police officials, the 15 year old boy and his friend climbed the walls of a bungalow in Kokan Housing society. Security guard caught one of the boy while other fled the scene.
The boy was identified by the name of Rehan. House owners and area locals tied the boy and subjected him to brutal torture and physical abuse.
Police arrested two people from the house. Both were said to be involved in beating of Rehan along with other locals from the area.
This is not the first time such incidents have happened in Pakistan.
Previously two brothers Mughees and Muneeb were lynched in a similar manner in suspicion of stealing in Sialkot.
Both brothers were brutally murdered on the streets and were also tied to a vehicle and then dragged on the roads in whole city.
