
Former president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has been shifted to Adiala jail on judicial remand till August 19 in the Mega money laundering case by the accountability court.
According to details, a mega-money laundering case against former President Asif Ali Zardari was heard by Judge of the Accountability Court Muhammad Bashir.
The NAB Prosecutor requested in the court that progress has been made in the Mega Laundering case against Asif Zardari and the accused physical judicial remand is required in this regard. NAB prosecutor requested the court to extend Asif Zardari’s physical remand.
Asif Ali Zardari’s lawyer, Sardar Latif Khosa, said that his client had already agreed to give 90 days’ physical remand.
“These repeated appearances are only causing losses to the national exchequer,” he added
During the hearing Asif Zardari came to Rostrum and said that these people did not even allow me to pray, I couldn’t offer Eid prayer.
Asif Zardari argued that if Irfan Mangi was here, I will ask him what Islamic state it is, my daughter is not allowed to visit me despite judicial permission.
Later, the court allowed Asif Ali Zardari to meet Asifa Bhutto. The hearing was adjourned until August 19.
Advocate Latif Khosa Khosa also filed a plea in the court asking that Zardari be provided with A-class facilities in prison, including medical facilities and the permission to meet his family including air conditioner, refrigerator newspapers, and books.
The accountability court issued notice to NAB on the request of Asif Zardari reagarding request for facilities and summoned a reply from NAB.
