COAS visits formation of strike corps

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday visited the Formation of Strike Corps.

In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS was briefed on state of operational preparedness.

Speaking on the occasion, Gen Qamar Bajwa said that Strike Corps has critical and decisive role in war. Your state of preparedness, training standards and high morale are very encouraging which enhance the confidence.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa further stated that operational preparedness of Strike Corps has developed trust among the people.

Earlier this month,  General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visited Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Wah, and Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) on Wednesday.

The COAS inaugurated Urea Formaldehyde Molding Compound (UFMC) Plant at Wah Nobel Chemicals Factory at POF which was completed within eight months.

The new plant is equipped with the latest and most economical silver catalyst technology, which will reduce the production cost.

It was revealed further that COAS also visited POF display center where new defense products were showcased.

General Bajwa appreciated the achievements of Research and Development Department of POF as well.

The COAS stressed upon the management of POF to adopt proactive approach for entering into joint ventures with foreign countries as well as the private sector and bringing diversification to its product range.

At HIT, the army chief was shown defense manufacturing facilities including up gradations of various tanks.

He appreciated the efforts and contributions of POF and HIT in manufacturing defense and security equipment at par with international standards making defense capability robust and self-reliant saving national exchequer.

Earlier in the day, High achiever students in Intermediate exams belonging to Ittehad-e-Tanzeemate-Madaris Pakistan (ITMP) from all over the country on Wednesday met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Head Quarters (GHQ).

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 13 students including four girls belonging to ITMP achieved top positions in various boards.

COAS congratulated the students for securing top positions in various disciplines.

He emphasized students to continue working hard and contribute towards prosperous and progressive Pakistan and be part of the society as useful citizens.
