The Accountability Court has extended the physical remand of opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz to 7 days in the assets beyond means case.

According to the details, the court ordered Hamza Shahbaz to appear again on August 10.

During the hearing, the NAB’s lawyer said that 2.5 crore rupees deposited to Hamza Shahbaz’s account.

The judge inquired to NAB’s lawyer that how many days Hamza Shahbaz was in physical remand.

The NAB officer responded that Hamza Shahbaz’s 52-day remand has been granted while NAB officials have requested extension of Hamza Shahbaz’s remand for another 15 days.

The accountability extended the physical remand of the accused to 7 days and ordered to appear again on August 10.

Strict security arrangements were made outside the accountability court and adjoining roads were blocked with containers and barbed wire.

On his last hearing Court ordered to present the the accused Hamza Shahbaz before the court on August 3.

Last time National Accountability Bureau (NAB) also presented the financial statements of the accused to the court, during the investigation, two unnamed companies have been unearthed.

The accused’s lawyer argued that NAB failed to provide any evidence of corruption against his client, NAB has no authority to probe on the financial returns and statements.

It should be noted that strict security measures were made during the accountability court proceedings.
