Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that country’s security and defense is government’s top priority.
SAPM while addressing a press conference briefed about the cabinet meeting proceedings held under the chairmanship of PM Imran Khan.
SAPM said that PM briefed cabinet about security situations of region after Indian actions in Kashmir. Focal groups have also been established under the light of resolution passed in National Assembly.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said that PM’s peace narrative about the region is being supported by international community. World leaders have also shown trust in Imran Khan.
SAPM further said that India is committing atrocities on innocent Kashmiris. Pakistan stands firm on Kashmir cause and will not show any flexibility.
PM also issued notification to end bilateral trade with India.
The main cause of administrative issue is the unequal distribution of resources for which PM has ordered all ministries to make sure relief is provided to common man, she added.
All ministries also presented recommendations to solve the issues of unequal distribution, SAPM added.
While talking about women empowerment, Firdous Ashiq Awan said that government is taking measures to empower women in Pakistan.
To protect women, on the orders of PM special mechanism will also be installed at railway stations.
Previously, Prime Minister Imran Khan convened maiden meeting of National Development Council (NDC) on Thursday.
He wanted to get a detailed briefing on two-point agenda.
Which includes Gwadar Master Plan and development plan for Baluchistan.
The NDC under chairmanship of Imran Khan met at PM Secretariat in which Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and other members of this high-powered Council were present.
