Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has telephoned Security Council member and South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Dr. Grace Naledi Mandisa Pandor.

In his conversation, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi exchanged views on Kashmir issue.

Foreign Minister said that India has committed serious human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir.

Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the lives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been impoverished since the last twelve days due to curfew and there is a famine of food and medicines in the valley.

He said that India wants to uproot the entire region through non-constitutional measures in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Mobile phone, Internet and communication sources in occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been suspended, He further added.

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi also briefed the South Africa minister about the contents of a letter to the Security Council.

South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation said: “We are monitoring the situation.” She has also expressed concern over the situation in Kashmir and hinted to bring unanimous resolution in the South African Parliament after consulting with other South African parliamentarians.
