DSP Saddar has given statement over attempt to murder case of a 14 year old boy at Karachi’s Lucky star.
According to the details, DSP Kanwar Asif, while talking to media, said that the tragic incident is being investigated after the case was filed by the victim’s father.
DSP Saddar confirmed that departmental investigations will also be conducted along with the case, as Police vehicle was present at the crime scene, at the time of incident.
DSP further said that FIR has been filed after arresting police constable Adnan.
Justice will be served after going through the lawful procedures, he added.
Three other suspects have also been arrested from the department, who were appointed earlier and are inexperienced, DSP said.
Video recording of suspect’s partner Arsalan has been obtained.
‘We asked the vehicle to stop, but the driver did not obey and went into the street, after we started chasing him’, Arsalan says in the video.
‘We heard a fire from constable Adnan’s side when we were getting off from the police mobile’, Arsalan added.
Mobile was handed over to constable Adnan as no officer was on-duty, according to Arsalan.
A 14 year old boy was injured by the gunshot of a police constable yesterday.
Victim Ahmed is a student of ninth grade. Ahmed’s arm was injured in the incident and he was moved to Jinnah Hospital for medical aid, at timely basis.
According to victim’s family, Ahmed went outside to park the car when a police constable in 15 Mobile shot him after asking him to stop.
Neighbors staged protests in the police station along with the victim’s family.
As a result, case was filed after taking police constable into custody.
Whereas, two other suspects were being interrogated.
Constables are inexperienced and have been arrested after the incident, the police admitted.
Further investigations are underway after filing case against the constables.
Incidents of Police firing on innocent citizens puts a question mark on the performance of such departments, which are responsible for maintaining peace in the city.
