Karachi Electric (KE) has decided to take action against encroachment on their installments in the city. The action will be taken from 19 august against internet, TV, cables using KE infrastructure.

According to the spokesperson KE concerned institutions have been warned to remove their encroachment from KE infrastructure.

Spokesperson KE said that internet and cable wires on the electric poles are dangerous. KE is a professional organization and is also providing support in any investigation against them.

During the recent spell of rain and flood in the city several people lost their lives due to electrocution, KE fully shares the grief with their families but most of the electrocution incidents happened inside the homes.

On the other hand KE has extended the deadline to submit the electricity bills for the current month till 23 August. Banks also have been made aware to not take surcharge from customers submitting the bill by the new deadline.

Previously, At least 10 people lost their lives in different incidents of electrocution as rain hit Karachi.

According to reports received, three people were killed in Defense Phase 5, Gulistan-e-Johar Block 19 and 3 people lost their lives in electrocuted incidents in Khamosh Colony.

Two people were electrocuted in Paposh, two in Malir, and one person died of electric shock each in Mahmoodabad, Lyari and Boat Basin.

The deceased also included two children.

Meanwhile, livestock was also badly affected by the current related incidents.

A goat died near Delhi Colony No 3 in Karachi due to electric shock. The other incident occurred in the Federal B Area, where a bull was also electrocuted.
