Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Pakistan was brutally looted in previous tenures.
Addressing the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government and the United Nations for Project Services and Sustainable Housing Solutions (SHS) for financial assistance in Naya Pakistan Housing Program in Islamabad, Premier said that the majority of people in Pakistan can’t afford to build a house.
Imran Khan said that Pakistan is facing a shortage of one million houses.
We are trying our best to utilize local materials in the housing scheme.
Imran Khan said that Naya Pakistan housing scheme will provide employment opportunities.
The purpose of establishing a housing authority is to provide facilities to those in need of houses.
He further said that the issue of how to minimize interest on a house loan is also being consulted, he added.
Earlier Last month while Addressing a registration ceremony of Naya Pakistan Housing Program in Islamabad , Prime minister said housing sector in Pakistan has lagged behind the regional countries due to lack of mortgage facilities to people by banks.
Imran Khan said housing is a basic need and there is a demand of ten million housing units in the country, but salaried class is not able to build their homes due to lack of resources.
