Minister of Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi met the Khalid Mahmood-led five-member UK parliamentary delegation, on their arrival to the foreign office.

According to details, acts of human rights violations in the Kashmir valley were discussed in the meeting.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi informed the delegation about the ongoing situation of Kashmir.

Shah Mahmood pointed out in the meeting that India’s law enforcement in the valley in a violation to International laws and UNSC’s resolutions.

All means of communications to the world have been suspended after the curfew, which was imposed on the citizens of valley by Indian Government three weeks ago, Qureshi added.

India’s trying to violate the peace of South Asia by taking such unilateral measures. Whereas, reports issued by International organizations and media are devastating.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi thanked the 5 member UK Parliamentary delegation for actively playing a active role to bring improvement in the situation of occupied Kashmir.

I believe that international community has a role to play and we will continue to push for the justice of Kashmiri people.

Shah Mahmood said that Britain had also expressed concern over the atrocities and human rights violations committed by the Indian forces in occupied Kashmir during the UNSC meeting and had called for a quick resolution of the dispute.
