Court for Control of Narcotics Substances dismissed a bail plea of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab president Rana Sanaullah in a drug case.

According to details, the plea against the drug case was rejected by Special Duty Judge Khalid Bashir.

The court, however, approved the bail of five co-accused, namely Usman, Anwar, Umar Farooq, Rustum Ali and Sibtain, over the fine of 2 lacs.

An Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) prosecutor contended before the court that the former Punjab law minister couldn’t be granted bail on medical grounds as he was getting treatment inside jail.

Sana’s lawyer argued that ANF which is a complainant in the case against his client had become a witness itself.

The counsel stated that ANF had failed to present any concrete evidence against his client and added that Rana Sana himself was not informed about the reason behind his arrest when he was taken into custody.

Last week, PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah’s judicial remand was extended again for 14 days.

According to details, Rana Sanaullah’s judicial remand in the drug smuggling case was extended after the hearing at ANF court.

Rana Sanaullah’s wife and son-in-law were also present in the court. Whereas, Ex Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Iqbal joined the court to express solidarity with Rana Sanaullah.

During the case hearing, Sanaullah’s lawyer argued that a federal minister had mentioned a video which he believed should be presented in court.

An Anti-Narcotics Force court in Lahore on Saturday extended judicial remand of PML (N) MNA Rana Sanaullah for 14 days in a drugs smuggling case.
