
Director General ISPR, Major General Asif Ghafoor, briefed the media about the prevailing security situation of the country and stated that India is clearly accelerating the region towards war.
During a news briefing, Major General Asif Ghafoor said that, “India thinks that it should take action against us that would weaken us. We want to tell India that wars are not only fought with weapons and economy but with patriotism.”
He said that India should recall February 27, when they sent in two warplanes and got a befitting response”.
Prime Minister Imran Khan in his first speech after resuming the office had extended an offer of dialogue, In India, Nazi ideology is in power. They endanger minorities including Muslims, Christians and Dalits, DG ISPR added.
Pakistan is playing its role for regional peace. “We have avoided escalation,” he said about recent tensions with India over disputed region of Kashmir.
Major General Asif Ghafoor further stated that we stand by Kashmiris and will continue to do so as Kashmir is the first line of defense for Pakistan.
Areas of Indian occupied Kashmir are reeling under strict curfew and communication blackout since August 5, when India unilaterally revoked Article 370 of the Indian Constitution that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
Normal life remains crippled on the 31st consecutive day, today, in the Kashmir valley and five districts of Jammu region.
Markets are shut and public transport is off the road since August 5 when Narendra Modi-led Indian government had announced repeal of special status of occupied Kashmir.
According to the Kashmir Valley Transporters Association figures, around 50,000 public transport vehicles remain grounded in the valley since August 5. The train service also remains suspended in the occupied territory.
Kashmiri Muslims were unable to sacrifice animals and offer Eid-ul-Adha prayers, as entire occupied territory has been converted into a military garrison and a big concentration camp through deployment of forces’ personnel in every street and village of the territory.
