Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that India has held hostages for millions of Kashmiris for over a month.
In a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Bin Sultan-al Nahyan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the situation in Kashmir is alarming and food and medicines are not available.
On the occasion, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi made it clear that Indian move is a violation of international law and a violation of UN resolutions.
The Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will arrive in Islamabad Wednesday (Today) and will meet with the top leadership of the country.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi welcomed the visiting Ministers upon their arrival.
Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed al-Jubeir and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan met Prime Minister Imran Khan, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
Bilateral relations in the region as well as the ongoing security situation in the region after the August 5 India move has been discussed during the meetings.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Saudi crown prince, Muhammad Bin Salman have had telephonic contact in which the two leaders exchanged views on the changing situation in the region.
It is pertinent to mention that after the scrapping of the special status of Kashmir by India on August 5, the two leaders had telephonic contact three times.
