Religious Ministry issues code of conduct for Muharram-ul-Haram

The code of conduct of Muharram al-Haram has been issued by the Ministry for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.

According to details, the code of conduct has been issued in consultation meeting chaired by the Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noorul Haq Qadri.

Ulema, Mashaikh from various schools of thought and officials of the Ministry of Interior attended the meeting.

In a meeting participants stressed upon promoting tolerance and religious amity among all segments of society during the holy month of Muharram-ul-Harram.

A joint declaration issued after a meeting of Ulema held in here at Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony to develop consensus over code of conduct for Muharram vowed respecting the sanctity of each other’s’ faith by avoiding emotionally charged speeches leading to creating tensions among various sects.

Earlier, an important meeting held in the ministry on Wednesday to devise a strategy to regulate Ziarat of sacred places including Iran, Iraq and India.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony was planning to regulate Umrah and Ziarat activities by registering tour operators besides giving stringent punishments to cheaters.
