Three people were killed and several injured in firing incident at Karachi Super Highway near Kathore Bridge.

According to details, the bodies have been shifted to Jinnah Hospital. The two deceased among three, were identified as Niaz Ali, 40, and Syed Ayub, 36.

The police official said the investigation is underway. The Officials also called additional contingents of police to maintain law and order due to tensed situation in the vicinity after the incident.

Police officials further stated that a group of transporters was protesting near the Kathore Bridge when the shooting took place.

The trailer drivers were protesting against the behavior of concerned departments.

It should be noted that for the past several days the concerned departments are stopping heavy freight trailer trucks.

Sources said that the trailers were stopped due to overweight which was later allowed to travel (at night) against heavy bribe of Rs. 10,000.

There were rows of heavy trailers stopped on the highway after shooting.
